Who's Your Daddy?

Based on his eating habits, do any of these stereotypical dads sound familiar?

Update on Jun 15 2022

Ever stereotyped your dad based on the kinds of food he eats? We have. Here are five types of dads with certain food habits that you may or may not have encountered:

We can start with dad that has a sweet tooth. He’s a literal sweetie and always offers you chocolate from his secret stash. Family-sized bars are his love language.

Sweet Tooth Dad is a sucker for extra toppings on everything. He isn’t great with fractions; he always seems to slice cakes so he ends up with the biggest bit. You can always rely on this dad for sweet snacks and good vibes.

If Sweet Tooth Dad sounds familiar, you're in luck. Open Tutti and order from Cinnaholic. They offer the perfect treat for your old man- Caramel Apple Pie Roll is delicious! A cinnamon bun topped with fresh apples, caramel, pecans, and homemade crumble! What's not to love?

Now this dad is the kind of dad you aspire to be. The Classy Dad has more style than sense. He loves to be seen in a suit and has a tie for each day of the week. He only eats steak if it comes with lobster and his signature drink is an old fashion. Sounding familiar? We know this Pappa can be hard to please, but you can't go wrong with a bottle of Scotch. Or wine, but make sure it's not a screw top. Open Tutti and order from your local liquor store. There's something for all budgets if dad isn't paying! Of course, you have to be 19+ to order liquor through Tutti- we will check your ID.

Trendy Dad has been taking the brunt of the jokes for as long as you've lived. It was all fun and games until he learnt how to use social media. Now Trendy Dad is doing dance challenges and posting them online. He’s been keto, paleo, vegan, veggie, pescatarian, flexitarian, intermittent fasted, avoided carbs or only ate carbs, you get the gist.  Trendy dad is always offering to cook you up the newest fad. ‘Seamoss smoothies and quinoa’ for breakfast was a better week than the ‘fermented foods only’ week.  We know your Paps means well and is trying to navigate through life. Support him in his mission to save the world (and his health) and treat him to some of the best vegan food we know.

Virtuous Pie is an absolute winner for dads day. Open Tutti and order the Katsu Pizza. It's katsu curry on a pizza. Vegan and incredible! Is your mouth watering? Only me? Ok.

Sports Dad is passionate about...sports! He takes up residency in the local sports bar and has a regular box at events *for luck* (and pacing purposes). There's a strong possibility he'll be at a hockey game and be streaming the UFC. Sports dad is an anomaly. You can find him downing pints at the game, but you can guarantee he's still up at 5 in the morning for a 5k. Sports dad is the king of balancing life.

Open Tutti and order from Yates St Taphouse. Get dad the bacon pineapple pizza, pulled pork poutine, and the coconut fried prawns. So he can eat and keep his eyes on the game.

The dad who can't cook/won't cook. Now, this is a busy dad, always doing *dad things* and fixing things that never seem to end up repaired. The one time a year Dad gets forced into the kitchen, he pairs very obscure ingredients together. Is it to make a point of his inability to cook? Best not ask him again. Also, avoid green vegetables- who would eat that? He swerves foods that come with a health label and sticks to a sausage sandwich for three meals of the day; every day.

Can't Cook Dad means well and always suggests takeout from Tutti. He got caught throwing away a whole pot of wild rice as he thought 'it was burnt'. This dad's cooking efforts are weak, though he makes up for it elsewhere. To please this dad, order anything from Tutti... something within the realms of 'beige food'.

And of course, Happy Fathers Day to all fathers and father figures out there! Use the code TUTTIDAD to enjoy $10 off a Tutti treat for dad.
